Villa Sole, Tuscany
If I could choose any of our villas in which to have my own holiday, I would pick Villa Sole in Tuscany. I went to see it in February and even though the weather was cold and overcast, it did not stop me falling in love with the charm of this villa. Set in the Tuscan countryside this 6 bedroom villa is in an elevated position with stunning views of the hills. If you imagine a typical and traditional Tuscan villa, this is it. I can just imagine lying by the pool in the Tuscan sunshine admiring the view with a nice glass of local wine!
What I love most about Villa Sole is the way that it has all the modern comforts mixed with the old traditional features. For example, a well equipped kitchen with all the mod-cons, wireless internet and en-suite to the master bedroom with a jacuzzi bath. This is mixed with antique furniture, knick-knacks and family photos. There are even paintings on the wall which are hundreds of years old, which would probably be kept in a museum if they were in the UK! The villa feels as though it is steeped in history, and perhaps been with one family for a long, long time – it is certainly well loved and cared for.
I think it would be really nice to drive out and explore the countryside and Lucca which is a beautiful old city and only 7km from Villa Sole. There are music concerts, little cobbled streets and piazzas and some very nice shops! I would also love to do an Italian cookery course and wine and olive oil tasting, and maybe try to learn some Italian.
Yep, I could quite happily spend a week or two in Villa Sole. Bellissimo! Click enquire about Villa Sol or view our other Tuscan Villas
